Do other groups demand tangibles for their votes?

As usual, we're intended to be the manual labor of the voting process while all the other 'real grown ups' manage the money and gains.

Yet, when we suggest a strike, all the other good manual laborers, like @skylove4 (I saw that, fakkit), admonish us to get back to picking the cotton.
You fukking idiot if black folks “strike” or not vote we really won’t get to manage the money or gains like other real grown ups whatever that means. And the last time we picked cotton we didn’t have the rights or the right to vote, something you’re trying to push us back too.

We should vote and start pooling money and donate to politicians who endorse us. Vote for the lesser of the evils for now and work on contributing to the campaigns and lobbying/creating pacs to fund candidates and legislation that will address our needs.
This is why as a group our constant consuming and lack of wealth building needs to fundamentally change. It's causing us to have no power politically besides a vote but we need to be able to determine who goes on the ballots and what bills are getting drafted and passed as well.

TLDR: Not voting is stupid but at the same time we need to build wealth in order to have a stronger say in what it gets voted for.

Not know what lobbying is brehs.

honestly the whole scream about tangibles sounds infantile and low vibrational.

Like do you know how the political system works?

imagine "The Coli PAC"

Where the coli pools money from members and endorses candidates based on if they fall in line with our initiatives and goals

Republicans and white conservatives vote in every single election, both local races and congressional races right down to who sits on school boards and councils. I see no reason why sane black people should by default give those people veto or voting power of policy, by staying home and not voting. Their interests no way align with helping black people and you can argue want to harm black folks, its crucial to vote even it is just negation, the lesser of two evils is still substantially better than the worst evil

We need to educate ourselves on elections and local politics. Starting from school boards and city councils. We need to develop politicians, but we also need to develop a voting base who cares about the politics in their communities. Once we do this and push to get everyone registered to vote, we become a massive problem for anyone. American politics is determined by so few votes, you can push for so much change with just enough support.

Withholding votes without a plan when so much is at stake is extremely shortsighted. There's so much on the ballot these next few years that directly have an impact on our lives.

Yes,
but they usually request tangibles that will take less than 100 years for all the right people to be in power to implement,
For reparations, we'll need a left leaning supreme court. left leaning house or rep, left leaning congress, left leaning president, not to mention sympathetic politicians holding office at every state and local level. plus a situation similar to post 9-11 atmosphere where the country was largely united for a brief period of time.

For something like getting books you don't like out of your school, all you need to do is pressure the local governor.

apples and oranges when it comes to scope.

How does not voting get us "money and gains"? Please enlighten us.

Only the ones that spend the money to do so.

The fact there's no Black SuperPAC is quite telling to me. It's not like there's no black billionaires.
Their billions come at the exploitation and expense of black people

The type of people that are billionaires are not magnanimous to beging with.
