Do employers ask for college transcripts?

I appreciate all the responses My gpa is 3.28 because I took too many units last semester There's GPA cutoffs for some of these firms. I'm graduating next year

I'm at 3.4 right now

Taking too many courses right now, I'm bout to take a hit and drop down somewhere around 3.1 -3.2 ish....



Still got a couple more weeks. I need to quit multitasking between the-coli and reading / studying. Classes aren't even hard, I'm just genuinely disinterested in most of the courses I'm taking this semester.

I was contemplating lying on my shyt which is why I asked. I'll just work for a smaller CPA firm and make sure my grad school gpa is competitive.

Wish I didn't fukk up in college when I first got there after highschool. My GPA in accounting classes (my major) is pretty though so at least I'll be able to say peep my GPA major

Yeah from everything I've heard, some jobs do some don't. I think almost all internships look at them though, which I guess means you can't get a damn internship if your gpa is sub 3.0 lol.

though this fukking not for profit class might fukk that up too

took it because the teacher is really easy and I needed an accounting elective. Apparently the administration got onto him for giving too many good grades, subsequently he made his tests (starting this semester of course, my luck.) multiple choice so no more partial credit.

The entire class is out of 200 points. 2 tests total.

then he tells us the entire test is based on the homework, when really it was more conceptual stuff from the book.

Some companies will ask for transcript. If so, it will be part of the application requirements. Some don't.
If they do want the transcript, the main reason is that they want to confirm that you got a real degree because they got burned by a previous employee who lied on their resume and didn't know jack squat.

Others may want to see how you did in your major courses. If you were an accounting major and got a 2.0 in a senior-level accounting course but in the same semester, you got 4.0 in History of Modern Women's Movement, they are going to murk your resume into the trash can.

I interned at a Wall Street Bank, and they didn't ask for my transcripts. I assume they were trying to fill a quota of making sure they had enough black interns so I took advantage of that lol


I did a great job as an intern(outperformed a a stuck up Morehouse student who was also Interning with me, who ended up on fax duty ), so when I graduated from College and accepted a full time position with them, they didn't even check to see if I really Graduated, they didn't ask for a Diploma or transcripts..

Im in engineering, every job interview they wanted a copy of my degree/diploma and my transcripts.

I failed two classes in my first year and that always haunts me.
