still have cds, tapes and records. I was mostly buying cds for a while but have cut back on cds unless the record goes for a lot of money. I mostly buy records these days if I am really liking the album a lot. I picked up that common and Pete rock , blu and exile. Also Traded a cassette for a ka signed record recently. My friend just picked me a copy of real live-the turnaround and heltah skeltah-nocturnal reissue just recently. Actually looking forward to purchasing a copy of that roc and alchemist album when it comes available. But yeah, I still invest money into music if is quality

I’ve been thinking about collecting vinyl for years now but the prices are just stupid because it’s become very trendy over the last 5-10 years or so. Plus i probably wouldn’t actually play them until my kids are older/moved out so I got a while to wait for that to happen. One day I’ll probably just get a nice collection of 50-100 CLASSICS on vinyl (Hip Hop only) just for display for myself, invest in a decent set up in case I ever play them. But I wouldn’t go much further than that I don’t think.

of course I do. I also still have the original jewel case of their debut that was censoring the kids with rifles. You had to remove the insert to see the cover fully. I made the mistake of giving away my cassettes as I was upgrading my cds in the 90s. An original Illmatic cassette goes for over $150 on ebay. I still have cassette tapes I recorded hip hop radio shows from the college station over 30 years ago when I was in high school.

nah, I stopped buying cassettes fully by the year 1998. I bought a few cassettes, but not many after the year 1997. Most of the cassetes I have are pre-1998
