other than the language what connection do Spanish people have to spain? I have never met a Spanish person in usa, that has been to spain or even know the capital city of spain.
do any of you 'spanish' people in usa even know or been to spain?

I'm an American.
My family comes from the Dominican Republic though. I speak Spanish. I am not Spanish.
And yes, I've met plenty of people from Spain. In fact, I keep in contact with 3 women who live there currently.

went to Spain, was a great weeklong trip ... country is beautiful, women look like models with baby carriages, food is scrumptious (that paella 
) .... only bad part was getting that inspectionby a cop when I got off of a bus, although my travel partner was white and had no issues.. had to show them my credentials... I guess they go hard on the African immigrants there ..

I spent a summer in Spain, it was awesome.

Been to spain about 10 times. I'm half Moroccan so a lot of them hate me because of what our people did to them (tainted their blood). I love the country but they are some of the most racist people I've ever witnessed. Not all of them though, the ones that aren't are super nice. You run into spainards in miami and NY from time to time.

People from Spain can be racist to Latinos merely because we're darker than they are. They consider themselves White Europeans...despite the whole history with the Moors and all.

It's funny because they gotta look in the mirror and be reminded everyday of what happened.... they used to all have blonde and red hair and we gave'em black hair.

Spain = Spanish
Puerto Rico = Puerto Rican
Mexico = Mexican
Dominican Republic = Dominican
The language they speak is Spanish and some of the dialect is different.

When he said spanish people he meant hispanic it doesn't mean that he thinks all hispanics are spanish.. shyt is a misnomer that's commonly used. He says that he's never met a spanish person from spain in the usa... so that let's you know right there that he was using the misnomer when he said spanish in the first sentence.
When in doubt, start a thread about Spanish and watch it turn into race.

lol honestly it seems like two questions... i dunno really where he's tryna go with it. The only connections is language and blood nothing else.
The 2nd part though is nyc and big cities. They don't really leave Spain like that. You'll catch some in other countries in europe but not like that.. some move to s america. Some live in Morocco.. there's a economic depression over there so a lot of people aint moving around like that.
