Most of y'all know about DMX's diss to K-Solo on Get At Me Dog but he actually dropped a full fledged diss record to Solo in 1991 titled "The Original Author of Spellbound"

(Verse 1)
Well, looks like we met again
Under the same circumstances now as back then
When you wanted to battle and you got defeated
Now you want a rematch, history repeated
What are you stupid, have you lost all your senses?
A mind for beef, behind barbed wire fences
You know what I’m talking about, remember?
You told me you was there since the middle of December
Where was this, well if your memory’s stale
Let me refresh it, Suffolk County Jail
Believe me, I know you, and I could never fear you
They call you Solo, cause you speak So-Low we couldn’t hear you
Church mouse, choir boy turned rapper
bytch ass fakkit, I oughta slap ya
For taking what is mine and claiming it to be yours
Committing a rhyme crime behind closed doors
Before this is over, the truth will be found
That I’m the original author of SpellBound

(DMX: Verse 2)
You know and I know, that we know, that they know
My rhymes are like a vintage wine and I will so no
Rhyme before it’s time, that’s why I waited
But I waited too long, you didn’t bite it, you ate it
Now it’s time to pay the piper, I’m a little hyper
Hiper, about to rip a, cause I’m the viper type of
Rap warrior, flipping psycho
To me you like a toy, made by Tyko
A joke, a jester, clown like fester
Nothing but a pest a, Chester the Molester
Ha-ha-ha little boy don’t make me laugh
fukk snapping necks I’m cracking backs in half
Your partners Erick and Parish, need to quit
I’ll diss your whole crew cause all of y’all ain’t shyt
I’m a do your crew of two or three or four
I’m a score it more than there are sea shells over seashore
You talk a good one but can you back it?
Throw out a rhyme and I’ll attack it
Stick out your face, I’m about to smack it
This is all out war with of full-metal jacket
There was a time I would’ve called you a friend
But now K-ummm, what was your name again?
K-sucker, K-silly, K-sloppy, K-sorry
K-slip a chip, cause I’mma play you like Atari
I’m the aggressor, more fresher and bolder
Yonkers style is wild, rock it like a boulder
You are older but I’m a little colder
Rip out your neck and call you Head and Shoulders
You gonna wish you never met me clown
I’m the original author of Spellbound

DMX's prime from 1991-2001 was unstoppable! The raw energy, the fiery passion, the pure aggression is unmatched! Being from the 914 like X, we felt his death to the heart

Did you know DMX was about to signed to Death Row?!

The founders of Ruff Ryder Entertainment Joaquin "Waah", Darin "Dee" and Chivon Dean spoke on the matter. They said that they were close to signing, but the deal was not in their favor and they feared that their rappers would get slighted in the partnership with Ruff Ryder producers having to mainly produce for Westcoast artist instead of focusing on their team from Yonkers.

Swizz Beats also talked about how Suge Knight tried to strong-arm them into a deal.

There are several reports that Death Row again tried to sign them in 1995 and even flew them out to a LA Hotel which Pac was at and that 2Pac was suppose to speak to DMX about the East Coast drama. However, 2Pac never came downstairs as he was too busy with several meetings taking place. DMX would later go on to diss 2Pac on several Freestyles and unreleased records in 1996.

It's debatable if this was DMX just trying to get attention because if 2Pac responded to anyone it would blow them up, or if DMX felt slighted about Pac not coming down to the hotel lobby to meet them. Imagine if X and Pac would've got at it, that would've took the beef to another dimension!

X talking about the dirtiest hoes that would fukk the whole click. shyt is comedy gold!

I don't recall X using this after his debut. He recorded some parts of the verses used on this during Redemption of the beast Sessions. Actually, a track released like 2 years ago, called "X moves" and made into a movie sountrack called "Survive the game".

The verse used on this, actually got recorded on a full song with DJ Clue, but for some reason, just the second verse (the same one on the freestyle) got released on "Ruff Ryders: Documentary 2000". 2 year later, released on Clue's album Hev. E. Components: Part 2 (2001)

I still don't know how NYC slept on all of this when this was out. Granted, X was a pain in the ass to deal with during that time, but some of these songs age like wine.
He did get Unsigned Hype in the Source in 1991 and signed the deal with Ruffhouse/Columbia records in 1992, but since the Born Loser single didn't take off, he got dropped. And I think other labels were just afraid to take a risk with him because he was kind of a loose cannon back then.

This was the B-Side of Born Loser "Catching the Same Hell" that dropped in 1992

Both records were produced by Dr. Ceuss aka Chad Elliot who went on to produce a bunch of classic records in the 90s and early 2000s for Usher, Total, Destiny's Child, etc...

He got dropped? i thought it was him that ended the contract because their poor promotion with his first single Born Loser.

Maybe it wasn't an accurate info tho 😅

Flava in Ya Ear freestyle from 1995, he used this verse again on "Don't You Ever" on "Then There Was X" which dropped in 1999

1996 "If I Ruled the World" freestyle he reused these verses on "Keep Your shyt the Hardest" off "Flesh of my Flesh Blood of my Blood" in 1998
