Also anytime people give you areas to look at in DC they're referring metro stops. So always look at a metro map when you want to know where they are.

If you're willing to take a longer compute you could try to move to Laurel, New Carrollton or Largo these are all at the end of the Orange and Blue and Silver in MD and compute in.you would save about $600 - $1000. 1 bed rooms should be about $1000-$1400 . You could still live close to the metro technically walking distance and save a good bit. The commute time to Lenfant from Largo and New Carrollton shouldn't be more than 30 minutes station to station. If you do Laurel try to live close to the Marc train stop and commute into Union station.

Stay out of NoVa, the cops are Nazis and the highways don't make an sense

I've had no issues with the police in NoVa yet. A couple of em give you the look but no issues yet. All else equal definitely a different racial demographic in NoVa police and DC police. I've seen no black NoVa police but basically all black DC City police.

The thing with DC is there are so many police forces. But still no issues. The only police officers I see flex in DC are metro police.

Thanks. The realtor person actually suggested the tysons area since it's walking distance from my job so I guess I'll be looking more in the nova area. I was trying to go high like 1500-1700 cus paying 2k for a one bedroom just seem crazy to me but everything is so expensive out there. I'm cool living in the hood in la cuz it's what I know and how to move but I ain't trying to do that in no an Virginia that's backwards af.

And how different it the weather cuz I don't even own a jacket like that outside of a hoodie

Edit. Didn't see the nova part smh what would be the closest nice DC area to commute to the tysons area. Not trying be on the train more then 25-30 moms tho

Tyson's is nice and pricey. Tyson's feels to surburban to be that pricey. But it's some real nice high rises over there.

You will need every bit of a top coat, winter jacket, scarf and hat this winter breh. This ain't LA by any stretch.

As long as you ain't in no bullshyt you'll be good in NoVa. How important are amenities to you? The side of DC closest to NoVa that's not in VA starts at Foggy Bottom and goes east. That shyt is expensive on that side. But if you don't need a lot of amenities and don't mind something older just search high and low and you'll find something .

Like do you need a washer and dryer in unit and a gym on the premises with underground parking and close to the metro? If so be prepared to pay. But if you can sacrifice on some of these you may be able to save some.

People will give you the trendy answer while neglecting to inform you of the entitled, soul sucking white people you will be around in D.C. And nova. Moco is cool. Pg pays the highest taxes (along with queen Ann and Baltimore) and get the least in return. And In the commonwealth of Virginia, you pay property taxes on everything
