a new guy without a "name" for himself has to keep it within 120 pages, perfectly written in script format, free of errors, etc. some even want it within 100 pages. plus they only read the first 10 pages of the script. If you don't "hook" them with the first ten pages then its in the dumpster 170 is a no no for a new writer on the scene

I'm working on a 3 hour movie, there no in hell the script is going to be 120 pages.

Somebody also told me only established writers can write scripts based on
licensed properties. That was also some bullshyt, because I sat face to face with a producer and he straight up told me.

First you have to have the shyt sent through the proper channels or its not getting read period. Agents, producers, and they like only read shyt giving to them by people they know or if they happen to know you.

Second you and the other dumb ass are missing the point
its more to a script than just the page length, and thats why he failed at writing scripts, instead of just taking this QT script and learning from it, he wants to act like a faq.

The structure and format is what is most important. If the first page is not written write they throwing in the trash, fukk getting to page 10.

Everybody is using Movie Magic, Final Draft and all the screenwriting software with spell checker these days so format isn't even really the problem anymore.. Its story and length and budget. But anyways good luck with your writing your script and don't be so fukking hostile

Everybody is using Movie Magic, Final Draft and all the screenwriting software with spell checker these days so format isn't even really the problem anymore.. Its story and length and budget. But anyways good luck with your writing your script and don't be so fukking hostile

You still don't get, that software isn't going to make your shyt look good on paper.

You still have to do it, and QT has a very direct style in his writing that is very simply and effective, and you do not see it in many scripts. At least not in the ones I've read.

When I say format, it has more to do than the margins and the outline of the actually document. It has a lot more to do with what you write and the pace of the story.

They even have drafts all the way up to shooting scripts. It's good insight, a lot of bad scripts get made into movies all the time, but at the same time it's better to learn from the well put together ones.

screenwritinggoldmine.com if you just starting out here's good place for you. You'll understand what I'm saying once you get the basics done.

The technical aspects of it are easy, the hard part is conveying the movies in words without it being overbearing, or like a novel.
