Okay we can agree to disagree.

I wouldnt compare Ems emotional state who rapped about it since day one to Quick emotional state who rapped about having fun, fukking broads and smoking weed..

Not surprised knowing Quik and he probably heard it before it came out as well which could make for the whole 99/2000 fiasco that we have going on in here lol

As an Eminem fan, MMLP is clearly his artistic peak, but it's not my favorite album of his, there's a difference. It's a time capsule type album, I feel the same way about IDAHIH by DMX, it was it's own little moment/event and it was really predicated on how dope and unique the raps were, the perspective and how it he wasn't YBT or even Pete Nice seemingly trying to shy away from the fact that he was a white rapper.

I'll listen to Relapse before MMLP, for the simple fact that it's the best overall production package he's had his entire career, was still snapping and was still doing what got him on,, being an underground rapper in the mainstream. That's really the last Eminem album in my eyes, everything else since had been more about trying to please too many people outside of the core fans of his work to try and stretch out his commercial viability.

To me, the "Emo" rappers would be like Scarface, who influenced Pac who in turn had a big influence on Em along the lines of using their music to speak on things like suicide, depression ect.

Listening to either of those MC's in their prime could be very cathartic at times. Which is a big reason why Pac and Em in particular have such loyal fanbases, they made you kinda give a fukk about them outside of the music.

I didn't really appreciate that song at first, he did like a lot of people do when they try and use humor to deal with trauma. I thought it was just a silly record, I didn't know he really got beat up to the point of having brain damage, having to re-learn shyt like walking straight and tying his shoes and shyt like that, I think it's dope that he got to work that out through his art.

Em’s best album is Slim Shady LP imo. I know im not in the majority on that tho. But to me that was his perfect balance between real emotions/storytelling and humor/shock rap.

People are definitely overthinking this whole time thing. How does a Quik/Eminem thread turn into a thread that is bordering on explanations of time/space continuum?

It's the fukkin coli breh, what'd you expect :pachaha:

Doesn't make for a lot of consistency, but him sounding so different from album to album is one of my favorite things about Em. You ask his fans what album is best and some will say Infinite or TES, MMLP. shyt Danny Brown said his favorite Em album was Encore which makes sense considering his style lol
