Started on DJ Quik's Red Tape the song "Real Doe" he sent a shot at MC Eiht and NWA (He says it wasn't a shot, hard to tell really)

MC Eiht responded back on "Duck Sick"

Quik had a reply on some underground track, not sure the name

Then MC Eiht (Compton's Most Wanted) started the Def Wish series with Def Wish 1

then DJ Quik responded back on "Way 2 Fonky" the song and then on the outro on "The Last Word" of that same album

Then MC Eiht responded on 'Duck Sick II', 'Dead Men Tell No Lies' and 'Def Wish II' all on the "Music to Drive By" album

Then Mc Eiht did another "Def Wish 3" before Quik even responded to the other three disses

Then Quik finally responded on "Dollars and Sense" and destroyed MC Eiht. That was on the "Murda Was the Case" soundtrack and also on "Safe and Sound" album, then Quik dissed him again on that same album on "Let You Havit"

MC Eiht responded with Def Wish 4, which was dope, but not enough

After that, Quik performed at Club El Ray, one of MC Eiht's homeboys came there started throwing up gang signs and started a fight with Quik, a big brawl ensued and a Crip got killed, and Quik was accused of murder. So that kina deaded the beef cause it was getting too serious

DJ Quik talks about it on "You Ain't Ganxta" track, at the end he tells MC Eiht when he gets his mind right, they can do a track together. They've since become cordial with one another.

The El Rey situation had nothing to do with Eiht, that was a 6-0 in the crowd who got caught slipping throwing up gang signs at the wrong place

No. It had to do with MC Eiht. It was Mc Eiht's Crip homies from his block that got into a fight with Quik that started the whole issue at Club El Rey. Eiht homie didn't get killed another Crip did, but MC Eiht's homies starting the brawl with Quik is what caused his death.

"I used to have a beef with this cat named Eiht
and his homies approached me at the club El Rey
What was I to do I'm on stage & I'm doin' my thang
and this nikka's out in the crowd tryin' to hoo' bang
givin' it up for his homies & set trippin' too
but he wasn't from Rollin' 60's more like Tragney
I wonder what's his problem what he tryin' to say
Is this business personal or just fukk Quik Day?
I approached him like a man & not like a nut
he turned around & put his drink down & straight knuckled up

In the dark club punches is flyin' all around
and even though it was me & him the rumors went 'round
and said I killed somebody now how that sound
How could I stomp somebody to death that's bigger than me
and I'm just a hundred & fifty five pounds tell me" - DJ Quik

Maybe I'm not looking in the right places but CMW and Quik don't seem to get the props they deserve?

for both artist/groups to come out of Compton around the Ruthless era and not bite NWA gave them longevity and to me they have made some classic hip-hop.

:salute:
compton most wanted was jus in it for the money tho..they followed every trend til the gangsta shyt came

then they wanted to be a gang..on some nwa shyt..

dj unknown was already fukkin with ice t..

this is early dj slip and mc eiht

they go from this

to when the nwa n the posse album dropped...

they all reinvented themselves to this

yep..it was somebody on behalf of tragniew that was in the 60s...they said quik held his ground..but got his jaw cracked in the process was wired for a couple of months...n he was also fightin a hit n run case where he killed a 5yr old..

why quik took a long as break between safe n sound way 2 fonky...next time u seen quik..was in the dont mean to turn u on video b-walkin...

that fight was the whole point of dollaz n sense...from what a couple ppl say...but also ppl dont know if the el rey incident happen before or after safe sound was made..lol
