It's not just the content, it's how he punctuates the verses and his breath control and how casual he sounds. Jay always sounded best to me when he's arrogant, laying back in the cut flowing like he doesn't even give a shyt, not when he's trying to overpower the shyt with his voice. someone as good as he is doesn't have to reach like that along with doing all extra shyt to help the delivery.. was just kinda awkward.
