Angle too big a name and in this era wwe couldn't get away with angle fukking up with the media on their ass. What he did was some snake shyt period. Vince has done some foul shyt over the years but he let a huge name COMPLETLY out their contract, on good faith they should get better, what boss would let a star go like that for nothing?

Wait there was an agreement that he would return? I though the story was he refused to go to rehab so they just outright let him out his contract

I heard he begged Vince for a break and they gave it to him, depends on who you ask

Naw he was doped up and I think they punished him by sending him to ECW. I think he was legit fired for refusing rehab but put the story out that he was taking time off for to prevent bad pub

Agreed!

Dammit :king: Kurt get your shyt together son. I do not want him becoming one of those tragic cases in a couple of years
He already is IMO. The Kurt Angle we all knew and loved in WWF/E has been :rip: for years. The comedic, charismatic, Olympic champion has been replaced by this alcoholic, twitter-rambling, bug-eyed weirdo.

@The G.O.D II is basically right. He wasn't punished by being sent to ECW if I remember correctly (I could be wrong), but WWE released him because he couldn't function without being on a staggering amount of pills. He refused to go to rehab multiple times after WWE ordered him to do so, and they eventually released him because they felt that there was a very real possibility that Kurt would die in the ring and they would be held liable. Dixie basically took on a near-crippled, burnt out drug addict (not to mention a pathological liar) when she hired Kurt in 2006.

Now, given the usual reason why addictions to pain pills and the like happen in high level wrestling (WWE's ridiculous schedule and the fear they instill in guys of "losing their spots"), WWE was hypocritical to attempt to take the high ground here. But Kurt was a very extreme case. He was actively destroying himself and it showed over his last couple of years there.
