The thing I don't get and never will get, is the people calling him the best scorer in the NBA. The dude hasn't won a scoring title and hasn't averaged 30ppg, I mean nobody ever called Wade the best scorer and he's done both.

This is very true. The reason I made this thread is because I was having a conversation with someone who knows I'm a big fan of Melo... but when they broke down how even offensively he hasn't done shyt, like a scoring title or an MVP & has been in the league the same amount of time as Wade & Bron but hasn't accomplished hardly any of what others in his draft class has, it really had me understanding a little why some people wouldn't call him a Superstar...

Melo isn't seeing 01-10 Kobe, Lebron and Durant when it comes to scoring. I would also take prime McGrady, Pierce and Dirk over Melo in the scoring department.

The reason they say it about Melo is because he has the size of a PF, with guard quickness. Bean is my nikka, but he isn't posting up any 4's, Melo could easily bang down there.

Melo's problem is his game looks so apathetic.

U cannot name an offensive move that Carmelo is incapable of performing at a high level. There are few players past or present who you could make the same statement about and even less who can perform those moves against nearly anyone

it's obvious Lebron scores on a higher efficiency when most of his offensive output is at or around the basket. That's not because of skill though, that's because he is a freak of nature in the NBA and can charge his way to the basket from half court

For what it's worth, Melo, Wade, and Lebron all average around 25 points per 36 minutes for their careers. Fact of the matter is, Melo has been on better squads with depth ( something I've never contested, albeit flawed ones in a tougher conference ). Melo has logged less minutes than both players, and never had to carry the scoring burden Lebron, and to a lesser extent Wade, did because he had teammates who pick up the scoring load.

Well if people want to call him the best pure scorer or best scorer in the league. Then by all means go ahead. I'll gladly take Lebron's offensive game over Melo's.

Lebron's game is a lot more than overpowering people. He has a decent post up game, has a pullup, step back etc. and he is a good shooter. Not to mention his shot selection is a lot better than Melo's. Obviously Melo has more moves, but Lebron is a lot more effective. What's the point of having all those offensive moves if you are only going to shoot 43% from the field? Dude is 6'8.
