I don't think the actors care as long as they are being compensated with royalties or something else when AI is replicating their choice.

Wouldn’t be a surprise if contracts will have these terms from now on.

These companies might even cut a check for long dead actors families to use their voices. They have enough content to replicate it 100%.

Can actors go on strike like writers? Isn't there a Screen Actors Guild that should be taken 100% seriously

This isn’t surprising at all. They bout to get James Earl Jones for his Darth Vadar voice and Morgan Freeman on lock guaranteed.

They already used some sort of AI in Obi Wan for James voice.

I have a lack of empathy on this topic. 10 years ago when self driving cars and robot fast food workers were being discussed, the overall sentiment of public opinion was to get educated, evolve adapt or die.

Some of these same people are getting a very harsh reality check. These robots are coming for everybody's job, no discrimination, not even the arts are safe.

Evolve or die like the dinosaurs. Hits a little different when that statement is directed at you

Yup.

actors are already set to go on strike

meanwhile the DGA is the only union out of the big 3 (Writers,Directors,Actors) unions that have actually been respected enough by the Producers Union to sit down and actually negotiate some shyt out

there's more work overlap between Producers and Directors unions so we all knew it was gonna play out like that, normally tho the other unions just let the DGA go first and then based their deals off of that one but this time around the producers been giving them the :camby: wit the quickness

at the end of the day they're gonna work something out that going to be FAR better than what happens to the music industry tho :mjlol: they don't stand a chance without a union to keep everyone on the same page

We're slowly entering the final stage of celebrity tho :wow: i can't say im glad or mad, it just is what it is, yall gonna have to learn to just appreciate the content and not be as connected to whomever made it

The smart move would be to just lease your likeness out per project, and have certain prompt restrictions so they can't make the A.I. do anything that would damage your image.

Oh and the actors asking about them streaming percentages too :sas2: hilarious how the music industry been getting ravaged by streaming percentages for years now and we're VERY close to getting some real answers now due to film unions pressing them
