Vice was never meant to be polished up and made into just another media company. They built themselves up as some kind of guerilla media news front with a hipster edge. They thrived on the internet because there was essentially no rules. Once they had to play by a rule book they became just another player in an oversaturated market with no individual appeal. Soon as they got those cheques they stopped making worthwhile content.
Their record company was a flop and their tv shows have largely proven they were better as internet shorts.
Good riddance to them and their new age National Geographic take on exploring spaces populated by people of color like they are on safari in the dark continent.
Hipsters don't build they destroy. Their biggest accomplishments in history will be steeped in irony... Gentrifying spaces they claim to love and expressing individualism with a standard uniform of beards and plaid shirts. One of the most useless cultural movements of all time. Good riddance fakkits.

Yeah, seems both sides didn't know once they gave Vice the money, and once Vice accepted the money the 'edge' they had in the market disappeared. People want independent non-filtered content. Disney is neither independent or non-filtered.

They left Vice last year. The split was pretty acrimonious - apparently Vice wanted more shows from them for the same money, and they were already burning out.
Then when they told the channel they wanted to leave Vice kicked them off the air early, and went as far as saying that they didn't think D&M would be a success on Showtime in the press.
Now this piece about the channel being a waste of money comes out.
Dudes would be within their rights to give their old employer the
treatment.

Vice is garbage, they literally had a show about recovering junkies, trying to "save" other junkies, shyt was so fukkin dumb, all those cooking shows, that weird ass nightly action bronson cooking show,
