Folks really eating off gentrification in a variety of ways.
Yep... lot of em are just living the SITC dream till it all falls downMost of them didn't grow up in NY. Homegrown NYC girls can be chill as hell, depending on where they're from/social background.

NYC is so fukking crazy. Me and wifey just got back from doing some reconnaissance in Charlotte for this move. Seeing how normal Americans live is eye opening. These aren't even nasty trailer trash people. These are literally just regular ass people. I think a lot of what defines NYC- the fast pace, the competition, the keeping up with the Joneses- are just distractions from the living conditions + stress. It doesn't just end in the city either, CT + LI carry that shyt over.
Chicks need to "socially climb" to cope with being in their late 20s with roommates, less than ~200 sq ft to themselves, zero outdoor space, little to no capacity to save or travel, high stress jobs, a dating scene that works against them etc. The whole thing just seems crazier and crazier to me.
We hit up Mac's Speed Shop. Nothing crazy, but good enough. We must have ate at like 12 restaurants. I would say 10 of them were good. It was def very chill. I liked it even w/the shytty weather we had.Could have given you a bbq place to go, some of the best food in my life.
NC seems like a pretty chill place, doesn't really feel like the south either.

BROOKLYN—After being offered her dream job as an editorial assistant at a high-powered, nationally syndicated magazine last week, area film character Eleanor “Eddie” Edison moved into a beautiful brownstone home in the heart of Brooklyn, sources confirmed. “This place is perfect!” said the attractive, if naively hopeful, protagonist, who graduated with a degree in English/Creative Writing from a well-known northeastern university and now lives in a 5,000-square-foot waterfront property overlooking lower Manhattan. “I’m so lucky I just happened to walk by and see the rent sign in the window. Tonight, after our shopping spree, I will invite my best girlfriends over and we will drink white wine and fill each other in on major developments in our lives while we listen to an album by My Morning Jacket.” At press time, sources confirmed the fictional woman, who is currently single while focusing on her career, had just bumped into an insufferable though admittedly handsome young man downstairs who, as it happens, works at the very same publication she does.
Kind of. When me and wifey got our first place we wanted to live west of Franklin, but we could only afford to live east of Franklin. Even now, our place in Manhattan is either in the price range or cheaper than a comparable place in Prospect Heights... and we are in the UES. I guess we are being priced out of Manhattan too now, in a way, as we can't really afford to have kids in the NYC metro area... hence the move to NChas anybody in the coli been displaced by gentrification? did you end up sharecropping in vermont?
some of the girls I went to school with who live in the city and work in marketing on the other hand I just find offensive
