Episode 1 didnt ruin the brand it bridged the gaps to the originals that eventually were going to be done by Lucas and needed to be done...

All these extra movies talked about are uneccessary...and to be honest i dont think they will make as much money as ppl seem to think...

it's arguable you can skip episode 1 and not miss anything that has to do with the main story arch.

Maybe but Lucas created this story and obviously episode 1 was part of his vision so its hard to say its irrelevant or unecessary when its his story to tell...What it did was introduce the characters and the origins of vader...

Ppl may have not liked it or the story but it did what it was supposed to do,which was set up parts 2-3...
