Why is everybody saying Disney will raise the price? Disney already OWNS the property rights to its content. Netflix has to pay others for content ( 100 million for friends alone) hence the price increase. Disney is not raising the prices anytime soon.

disney won't raise the price now because this is an obvious "loss-leader" until they get to a certain threshold of subscribers, calculate acceptable losses and jack up the prices. everyone thinking people will just cancel en-mass immediately at a later price hike is kidding themselves. consumers build profiles on these platforms, have "watch later" lists, etc. Once entrenched it'll be a more difficult decision to leave the platform, especially those family households. This is Disney we're talking about, they have always been a premium brand and premium brands have premium prices.

Netflix is not afraid of Disney they are at a point of being a seminal part of entertainment. Internet, Netflix, Phone, Cable in order of importance

their spending on new content is out of control and they are not sustainable at the current price point. they have some MAJOR problems.

Y'all are sleeping on HBO Max dropping next year. Not only will it have all HBO and Cinemax content but everything that falls under the Warner Media umbrella including Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, and Looney Tunes.

No official price has been announced but they're speculating that it's gonna range between $16-17 a month.

Here's a link for more info
