I'm sure ESPN isn't sweating the deal as he'll be a company man and give up bread when asked like he's admitted to many times previously.

Never understood why he never said no considering the leverage has compared to his fellow peers.

IIRC SAS only brought up taking a paycut once and that was during the layoff shyt because of covid (Disney took massive loss on parks).
He probably didnt say no for 2 reasons. 1. He would make up that money by asking for more money on the reup. 2. Company man shyt. Apparently he wasnt the only one that took a paycut.

Seems the paycut was only for 3 months too, it wasnt a permanent decrease. Another thing is all the top espn execs already took a 20-30% paycut, so that probably made it an easier pill to swallow for the bigger talent.
Earlier this month, Disney ordered a 20-30 percent base salary cut for all ESPN executives and now it appears that ‘the worldwide leader in sports’ is asking something similar of its top talent.

According to John Ouran of Sports Business Journal, the network has asked its 100 highest paid commentators to take a voluntary 15 percent pay cut over the next three months due to the ramification of the sports world shutting down thanks to The Big Cancel.

ESPN has asked its 100 most highly paid commentators to take voluntary 15% pay cuts over the next three months as the network deals with the financial implications from the sports world shutting down due to the coronavirus pandemic, Sports Business Journal has learned.

SAS probably not taking a paycut again unless something likd covid happens again. Was there another time he took a paycut?

IIRC, they were asking talent to do it again a couple of years ago as I remember someone leaking the letter sent out to the press about it.

He's mentioned before about his salary that was floating around for years now as not being due whether that being due to paycuts or not wanting to confirm it as being true.
