I imagine the twist will be the [almost] complete opposite to Nancy's perspective/interpretation of what went on between Catherine and her son.
It's shaping up to be exactly this.

Jonathan is likely guilty of some shyt that he inflicted on Catherine (and possibly Natasha), and she wanted to put it all behind her and move on (with Jonathan's death marking this), protecting herself and Nicholas. Nancy's interpretation is essentially her covering up the guilt she feels over the actions of her son by forcing a narrative that was in complete contrast to what actually happened.

When someone asks me if I've seen a certain show, I love saying "I don't watch TV" because I think I deserve an award for watching less TV 😏

This is some soft core porn shyt.:mjlol:

Some great acting, I suspect the real story
is somewhere in the middle of the two stories
I put my speculation in spoiler just in case.

The visuals were excellent, but the story felt flat to me, only watched 1 episode. Don't have Apple TV lol

I hit nothing but net, not that it was some great mystery to begin with. The clues were hiding in plain sight.
Now this is over, I can digest it in its entirety.

What an underwhelming mess.

Cate Blanchett tried her damn best to carry this sorry ass show from start to finish, but not even she could save it from collapsing well before the finish line.

The show left no room for ambiguity. Her version of events were the truth. Otherwise, Cuaron would've made it clear after she gave her side of the story that she wasn't to be trusted. There are plenty of clues throughout (that aren't narratively told) where we're led down that path, anyway.

One important one is Sasha abruptly leaving and coming home. We're told through Nancy's perspective that Sasha had a family death, but we know during Episode 6 this wasn't the case. It's not made explicit, but we know something happened between her and Jonathan (not because of a family death), that was of the utmost gravity, something of which where Sasha wouldn't even attend his funeral when it was made known he was dead.

What could be that serious where Sasha wouldn't even attend his funeral?

We can discern that she likely suffered the same fate (at the hands of Jonathan) as Catherine did.

Curious to know what did you think was iffy about her story? [/quote]

Apple TV has one of the better quality to quantity ratios out of all the services

her side just seemed a little too neat to me. I figured that the truth had to be somewhere in between and not just EXACTLY what she said happened.

Great point about the girlfriend, as I thought that "and that was the last we ever heard from her" line was eerie but didn't think of it in that context

I really loved all the visuals, it's easily the most lushly shot series/movie of the year. The direction is stunning. A career high for Cuaron. Blachett and Cohen were excellent. The show had me in 100% around the Adrian Lyne esque scenes on the beach hotel, and the unraveling in London, the sex scenes, the rescue scenes, it was rapidly approaching the best thing I had watched all year (aside from Industry)

The last two took it down. The twist was significantly less strong and interesting than the narrative of intense sexual pleasure and madness. THAT was interesting. That was not new, but something out of a different era.

And I understand the meta fiction narrative, but it was for the wrong reasons, like who frames the story and why, and all that, I got that. Drained all the life out of the show. The narrative where she lets the kid drown to cover her own urges is much more thrilling. The 18 year old kid is a serial rapist. ok. The sexual narrative felt overheated, at times, but THAT twist felt like a bad genre fiction airport read. Cheap Netflix thriller type shyt. Woman in The Window.
