67 wins is only 5 away from tying the bulls breh. this is a fukking accomplishment

josh howard has been injured when he was healthy he was a allstar player

Norfeast groovin…
He gets credit for making that Warriors team all the more memorable. This team was in the Finals a year before and Dirk was MVP so wtf more credit do they need? shyt, Dirk and the mavs ain't recover from this loss til 2011.

fukk it i was bored so i made a list of the top PFs, IMO.. Now I didnt list anyone before the 80s because I havent watched a lot of basketball from back than and the style of play was so different its hard to compare to some of the guys playing today.. So here is what I got:
1. Charles Barkley - gotta give Sir Charles the slight edge over Duncan... as great as duncan is, I'm a huge Barkley fan and in his prime Jordan was the only one that could stop him from winning a championship.. Really sad for Charles and a few others to be playing at the same time as Jordan and be overshadowed like that.
2. Tim Duncan - Duncan is number one on everyone's list I'm sure and honestly there isnt a reason he shouldnt be but I'm a huge fan of barkley so I gave him the top spot :manny:
3. Kevin Garnett - barelly edging out Dirk but both great players.. its a toss up really
4. Dirk Nowitzki
5. Karl Malone - a bit overrated IMO, still a big of malone's game especially later in his career. He really improved his jump shot and passing skills and had his prime years in his mid 30s, which is very rare... Some would even accuse him of taking steroids :whoo: since he was showing great conditioning and stamina at 36 years old, right in the middle of baseball's performance enhacment era.
6. Moses Malone - incredibly dominant inside, was super athletic with his size and great quickness at his size. Got any post position he wanted.
7. Amare Stoudemire - Terrible defender and Knicks should trade him but can't deny the scoring skills are as good as any PF ever.
8. Pau Gasol
9. Shawn Kemp - Great to watch and all that but can't really put him above any of the other guys. Although considering how good of a defender he was in his later years with the Sonics, maybe I'm giving Gasol and Amare too much credit for their offensive games.
10. Chris Webber - should've won the championship with the kings at least once, maybe twice, bad luck has plagued his career. Also of course late game situations weren't really his thing :heh:
11. Kevin McHale - was my favorite player on the 80s Celtics teams and seriously think he was better than Bird a lot of the times
12. Elton Brand - another guy who just never had a chance to shine in the playoffs like he should've and by the time he got with better teams, injuries ended him. Was one of my favorite players in the league during his time with the Clippers tho.
13. Chris Bosh - I have a little bit of a bias towards younger guys since I'm only 25, so I dont know as much about other eras of basketball but this guy was incredibly good with the Raptors and no matter how much shyt he catches for being soft, he is VERY important to the Heat as we saw last year in the playoffs.
14. Zach Randolph - That year he was with the knicks and than got traded to the Clippers really did a lot for him. He worked on his all around skills and finally realized that he needs to play hard if he wants to succeed and reach full potential. Now seems like he got it and is ready to be the player he always could've been and the Grizzlies are primed for a big season.

Watch this. For my Mavs fans reminisce. Dirk single-handedly shredded Miami in Game 2. SONNED Chris Bosh at 4:05. I swear to you I was at the club poppin bottles on a Thursday night after this game. Too bad ESPN had Lebron's dikk all the way down their throats to give Dirk the credit he DESERVED.

ok i was having a guilty conscience about that list so i re-ranked it a bit

1. Tim Duncan - much as i love chuckster, duncan gotta number one
2. Charles Barkley
3. Kevin Garnett
4. Dirk Nowitzki
5. Karl Malone
6. Moses Malone
7. Shawn Kemp - had to put kemp a few spots higher cuz his D was really underrated guy was really a game changer. His athletic ability was unmatched and him and kemp were just hell to opposing teams on the defensive end.
8. Amare Stoudemire
9. Pau Gasol
10. Kevin McHale - had to put McHale above Cwebb because CWebb is a choke artist :smh:
11. Chris Webber
12. Elton Brand
13. Chris Bosh
14. Zach Randolph

I love ZBo but is he really top 14 PF since 1980? Am I missing someone here?

it wasnt just dirk... they had match up problems all over for every team in the league over than warriors.

the speed and shooting of terry, the speed and slashing ability of harris in the back court.then howard who was just great all around, gettin rebounds, putbacks, jumpers. of course dirk was the most important piece as a 7" who could shoot from anywhere but dont underrate the surrounding players....

now that i think about it, shame what happened to devin harris. kid could ball and was playing at an all star level when he got traded to the nets. wtf happened ?

First of all, I have big issues with giving props for a team that got bounced in the first round after winning 67 games, by GSW. I don't care about how GSW was a bad match-up for them, you don't lose in the first round to a team playing small ball and coached by Nellie. No excuses.

As for the team, I don't get why people still look at rosters without actually looking at how good that team was and how good the players were.

That team was top 5 defensively and that credit sure as hell doesn't go to Dirk. Dampier, Diop, Howard and George all played great defense and credit Avery Johnson for doing a great coaching job.

That team was clicking and meshed perfectly. Sure 67 games is overachieving but it was a very good team that produced one of the, if not biggest, choke jobs in the history of the NBA.
