Tom Brady will be this kind of figure for the NFL in the future. He's one of only a few players ever to play in 3 decades in the NFL (2000's, 2010's and 2020's). He was drafted when guys like Troy Aikman, Randall Cunningham, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Vinny Testaverde were still integral parts to their teams, LOL.
Vinny Testaverde is also an interesting player. He was drafted in 1987, and played in the NFL until 2007. He came into the league when John Elway, Dan Marino and Jim Kelly were just entering their primes as QB's, and left the NFL when Ben Roerhlisberger, Phillip Rivers and Eli Manning were just entering their primes as QB's. He was throwing passes at the U to Michael Irvin and was redshirted his sophomore year behind Bernie Kosar. In his final NFL season, he was throwing passes to Steve Smith. His first season in the NFL was the strike shortened 1987 NFL season, and he was playing in the NFL when guys like Jimmy the Greek were still doing the halftime show on CBS. He retired at age 44.
