Thief is definitely worth a watch though and it's on Netflix

How is Heat overrated?

It's pretty much the blueprint to how a robbery movie should be done. I haven't seen many newer movies to nail it like Heat did. The Town is probably the closest, but it's still not seeing Heat IMO.

It's pretty much the blueprint to how a robbery movie should be done. I haven't seen many newer movies to nail it like Heat did. The Town is probably the closest, but it's still not seeing Heat IMO.

The robbery scenes are excellent, Deniro and Pacino are excellent, and it's overall an excellent film.

But I don't think it's a great heist film and I think it's overly long and has too many unsatisfying subplots within the team. Especially Waingro...the hooker-murder arc didn't lead anywhere and ultimately didn't add anything to the film.

And I think there are many better heist films.

It REALLY bothered me when I saw PE in theaters...but that was actually a different camera. I don't remember much about Miami Vice other than it being a huge disappointment.

the hooker murder was random, I agree, but waingro in general was pretty damn important to the movie. showed that de niro still lived by the code and wasnt hesitant to put his boys and morals over a girl. then of course he put his own life over her but that was to be expected

waingro is a mad fukkup who makes life difficult...hes like a crazier mr blonde from reservoir dog except hes just a maniac.

I liked the character, and almost all of them.....not sure we needed the little detour to go get Donald/Dennis Haysbert ......but some of their smaller subplots/arcs were just sort of incomplete and ultimately unnecessary. The main story is the McCauley/Hanna dynamic...the rest almost gets in the way imo.

The Last Of The Mohicans is the only great movie I think he's done. Dude is overrated as fukk.
