Bingo. He was really fired but for Pr reasons he stepped down. Mullin last week tried to get an extension and was denied.
all the news outlets are saying its Bobby Hurley's job if he wants it. He seems to be building things nicely out west at ASU, would he want to start over again in Queens. I thought by having 2 hall of famers on staff SJU would be attractive to players looking to get to the pros asap. As a Queens native I just want St Johns to be relevant again. I hope the next guy works out
ive never understood how DePaul and SJU cant find some scrappy ballers from their cities and make a run. too much talent in the areas to be this bad all the time

What you said is the same with Miami football, SJU, Illinois and DePaul. Winning. That’s it. St.Johns and DePaul go on a cinderella run for one year, say Elite 8 or better, and watch what happens to their recruiting the following year. Miami doesn’t lose to Pitt, you would have made the playoffs. Playoffs would have made you top 3 the next year easy. Everything is what have you done for me lately with recruits. Look at Nova’s class. All of a sudden Jay is landing 2 to 3 Mickey kids a class and it’s well deserved. Nova is now one of the most elite programs in the nation.
St. Johns number 1 is landing Munch from PSA as an assistant coach. Head coach is not happening but make him your top assistant. You don’t do that and Munch ends up at Cuse, Seton Hall or UConn, kiss your recruiting goodbye. Just fold it away.

I like the sound of that , I heard they're looking at bringing in the director of the Ny Rens. I remember when Derm was on the staff and it seemed like the whole roster played for Riverside Church .
