Nintendo been ass since Nintendo 64. Selling that garbage to get a ps1 was the best gaming decision I ever made.

Been trying to tell folks...Nintendo has been going downhill since the late 90's
Never had strong 3rd party support
Questionable hardware decisions
No real online infrastructure
strange controller decisions for the past couple of generations
Not many new IPs
They were the only ones that were able to get away with that for so long...Handhelds are their space.

Its a shame too because I was a Nintendo Stan when I was a kid. Mario64 and Zelda oot were hot but by the time ps1 came out I was maturing and wanted to play more mature shyt. Nintendo has made bit clear that they want to market their products to children and 40 year old virgins and that's fine by me.

see you saw the writing on the wall but im one of those cats that really really really loved my gamecube so im kind of heart broken...i think if they kept iterating that joint up instead of going after that fickle ass casual audience theyd be ok right now...at least.
edit: they also should have gotten a clue about that online shyt a LOT earlier.

the wii sports pop-off was a gift and a curse.
gift: huge early lead last gen, created a huge userbase that just needed any games, floated them the last gen
curse: this allowed them to once again think they can run the same thing of not having hardware parity with Sony/MS, ignoring 3rd party devs, no forward thinking online strategy
I guess will see if a basically Nintendo-only box can survive this generation w/o the steroids of wii sports inflating the userbase.

It's amazing that Nintendo took all the money they made from the WII and created the WIIU

I bought my first Ki from my baby momma brother
All they had to do was drop a programmer friendly, online capable console, let third parties eat, and drop pokemon/mario/zelda and feast.

i got a wii u for my kids they fukkin love it. ill play the standard mario and zeldas and whatnot but thats it.
have a 360 and had a ps3 but i'm for sure gonna get a 720 or ps4 day one
