This is more of so that Xbox and Sony not paying like they did in the beginning. Xbox doesn't have to pay due to recent acquisitions and Sony working on their GAAS.

A lot of those indie developers were eating good at the beginning. They might have dug themselves into a hole being too reliant on it
If they turned down the subscription deals, and made less money than they would have with the deals, then their games aren’t worth as much as they thought they were and they shoulda signed the damn deals.
Same shyt Colisto Protical devs were talking about. 6 months later their studio is in shambles.
