There would have been a way around Diggy for Cole if he was a more aggressive rapper. Using say 50 Cent as an example, if Cole was a rapper like 50 and a kid went at 50, it would be possible for 50 to win because of his image as a big bully, 50 could tear the kid apart and everyone would laugh at what 50 did now. Cole on the other hand is soft, so if he beats a kid, it won't be seen as anything more than a hollow victory.

Secondly, why are people discrediting Diggy? I'm not a fan, I've only heard 2 songs, both are the J.Cole disses, but why are so many playing his evident talent down. Because of his upbringing? Why is Drake given a pass? 2 Chainz and College Basketball and 4.0 GPA? Why do we pick and choose in these cases?

B I'm a fan of Cole too. I think his album was poor, but one poor record ain't gonna turn me off because his talent is evident. But in the grand scheme of things, Cole is soft. Not Drake soft. But he's not an aggressive artist, he sure ain't talking about beefing and shyt. That's why for him there's not much he can do here to win.

I know Diggy and 2 Chainz situations are worlds apart, and maybe that's a bad comparison. The Drake one is more fitting. Drake come from a real good family and upbringing, not as good as Diggy, but he gets passes. And yeah, he def gets passes, he's considered amongst the elite in hip hop whereas Diggy is ignored because of his upbringing.

The thing is Diggy gets a lot of love, even the "Everybody hates Chris" kid was getting love, had people calling his little song "Real Hip Hop".
This era seems to care a whole let less where you're from and they're moreso worried about how the music sounds in their ears.

As for J. Cole he's talked a lot of hard stuff in his records, he's a multifaceted artist. I mean he never really claimed to be some super thug merking whole cities but he's always maintained he's no punk.

I personally don't think this is a lose/lose situation for Cole, this is Hip Hop and Diggy simmons is practically a man. So if Cole responds it's fair game.
And I think I overreacted, I don't want people thinking I chracterize anyone who disagrees as a Diggy Simmons stan.
