I live this the BK and having also lived in the Bronx and violent crime in the Bronx is on another level in the Bronx.
Brooklyn has the reputation of being the jux capital but in the X the crimes are more heinous and you will get touched for less. They still sell Nickel bags in the X. It’s different

Weed man walked in, people were placing order in multiple of 5. If you says 5 he gave you one bag, if you said 15 he gave you three bags.
Their best option is to go to the cops. No point of even trying to hide out. Would only exacerbate their charges. That dude was caught on 4K damn near. And you know they were found via other cameras in the surrounding blocks.
