if theres an upside, maybe these artists can sue websites like genius.com and force them to remove lyrics

i highly doubt that would happen ever

i just really hate 'rapgenius'
Lol

How can they force them to remove lyrics when

A. These lyrics are someone else's interpretation, and therefore often are incorrect

B. Most of these artists didn't write most of these songs.

I can't speak for @Boogerwolf, but there is a LOT of info online about the founders of Rapgenius/Genius being super racist. You can start here: Your Guide to RapGenius.com, the Controversial Rap Lyrics Site That Just Landed a $15 Million Investment
That sucks, but there's no reason a black person shouldn't have jumped on that idea first.

Genius isn't anything but a simple webpage.

In any case, genius isn't even a relevant anymore. They don't even post explanations anymore on most songs

For all we know, maybe a Black person did have the idea first; but you know the how the game goes: white boys were able to get financed first, they took the site live, got paid big time by exploiting our culture, and then cashed out.
Genius was VladTV/NoJumper/Cam Capone with lyrics on the screen.

the oldest examples i remember are rapreviews/ohhla who i believe the founder is white, but he had a bunch of people writing for him too, no idea if they were black or not. USENET was also important for sharing lyrics. really, a transcription of lyrics shouldnt be a big deal, but sites like genius make TONS of money from advertisements. rapreviews isnt like that at all, to be fair
