- Obviously Gene gets views. His interviews always do numbers.

- he has never changed his story after all of these years and wants people to know that

- I genuinely think he cared about doing his job, the life/perks that came with it and he knew he was part of something special

- Gene really wants BIG’s case solved and probably feels bad that he saw the killer before the shooting but had no idea that BIG would get hit because Puff was the target

- it’s obvious he has an ax to grind with Puff because Puff never listened to his warnings about security risks, talked down to almost everyone and got in over his head with real street dudes who compromised everything. Gene told them LA was a bad idea and Puff didn’t care. Gene related a message to them the night of the shooting that cats were gunning for them and they still went to the party.

- Gene likes the attention, which is a byproduct of all of this and he KNOWS Puff won’t step to him in any capacity

- it’s clear that Gene kinda gets a kick out of exposing the stupidity of the whole crew. He saw BIG out in LA (with a broken leg) being overconfident and nonchalant. Mase needed to be saved by him at the hotel the night of the shooting AFTER being warned to stop flossing like shít was cool. Puff flat out ignoring clear threats and throwing his power in everyone’s face. Cease getting treated like a dummy by BIG in front of everyone for causing the wreck that got him/BIG/Charli injured.

At the City College game when the crowd at the door got rowdy, Puff took the money box and dipped. They closed the doors and people got crushed. Not saying he was malicious but his (and other people’s) shortcuts cost people their lives.

So it’s wild that he would be so cocky and let oversights put the whole crew in danger in LA.

BIG was supposed to be in London doing his album promo and who in their right mind is crumping all over LA 6 months after Pac gets killed. Any LA based promos he had lined up could’ve been done over the phone or via satellite.

Them dudes thought Suge was the big bad wolf and since he was locked up they could do whatever. Keefe put the battery in their backs and they got slick because Keefe saved them a couple of times when the wolves showed up.

Folks were coming after BOTH of them and just happened to “settle” on BIG because his driver was too dumb to follow the other cars thru the red light that night.

- Cats were already on BIG’s ass after the Dogg Pound trailer got shot up during the “New York, New York” video when BIG got on the radio egging folks to do something.

- Puff using Keefe as his Crip concierge, especially after the 2Pac shooting, put a target on his ass considering by them folks knew Orlando (Keefe’s nephew) was the “shooter”

- at the soul train awards, Bad Boy and Death Row got into it and C-Gutta (same one behind the Kim/Foxy Hot97 incident) pulled a gun. FOI were there and stepped in immediately but the Bad Boy crew got a bit extra with the Muslims to a point where one of the FOI dudes was ready for action and not taking orders from his boss to chill out. Rouge faction in the FOI was coming for Puff no matter what because of the incident. Puff was the ringleader and someone he was with was acting a fool.

So, it could’ve been BIG or Puff who got touched at any point out there (and they were in LA weeks like shït was cool). Shooter at the Vibe party missed his chance 2x to get Puff and Gene himself will say that. Once in the parking structure because Gene was there with the strap and then when Puff’s car ran the light, BIG’s car was right there stopped and the same dude from the parking garage lit BIG up.

If a mainstream late nite host knows about Gene then you already know every Vlad Tv and Art of Dialogue video has been transcribed by LAPD and LVPD.

To think that all it took was a few bucks to shut Keefe up and that would be that as far as Puff was concerned. But he didn’t do that and now it’s only a matter of time.

Why didn't they just get Puff later then?

When the whole Bad Boy crew left the Vibe party they were in like 5 SUVs back to back, drove off and Puff’s vehicle ran the light. BIG’s vehicle was behind and stopped even tho their normal protocol to run lights and if the cops pulled them over then they would just get 5 red light tickers.

Shooter saw BIG’s vehicle at the light and got him instead and then dipped. After they went to the hospital and BIG was dead, Gene and the security took Puff to San Diego to fly him out immediately — leaving the whole crew behind.

There was no later after you have two high profile murders of the biggest artists in the game months apart.

I’m sure he learned his lesson after that because you will see a small army around Puff now.

While this is going on, you have folks like Zip, Poochie, Keefe, Orlando, Big Dre and countless others either get killed or arrested for other shít between 97 and 2003 (and beyond). Puff wasn’t coming back on some careless shít anytime soon during that time and hand plenty of new mess of his own to deal with when the Shyne incident happened, then Wolf getting killed by BMF a year or two after.

Mind you, Gene was still around during all of this this and protecting Puff along with some other off duty cops they had in the mix.
