my father would play the sports games we had. he actually started a league with me and my sister. we'd choose a team depending on the sport, follow whatever the schedule was for that year for the team, do a playoff, etc. we did it more for football than any other sport because it would be easier and take less time. the other seasons for different sports were abbreviated...

Back when I use to have a nintendo and genesis...I would want my mom to try and play...I would give her the controller to play mario bros...and instead of pressing the button, she would move the controller like it was hooked into a kinect...:ohhh:.....this was the early 90's

:wow: man the exact same thing my mom did

but my pops that nikka on the other hand nikka brought us our first nintendo i want even into games at that time i watched this nikka play AND beat the legend of zelda i was like :ohhh: then after he beat it nikka handed me the controller like some passing of the torch and said  "now you beat it" shyt had me like :sadcam: cuz u know when you beat it everything changes....ever since that nikka put the nintendo controller in my hand i never looked back

Did this to my mom for Mario Kart 64. She stated that she doesn't understand what kids see in video games. :russ: So I gave her a controller. Me, brother, and sister watch and tell her what button to press and all that shyt but she just sit there like :dwillhuh: "What do I do?"

:snoop:

Then she goes :childplease: "I got more important things to do". Haitian parents yo...

We gave up after that and never tried it again.

it's funny cuz im Haitian and my pops got me into gaming and he still would say that shyt my mom on the other hand she loved mario

My mom briefly played Metal Gear Solid 4 but stopped because it was too confusing.

I played my dad in I think Madden on the Genesis. It was the first sports game I played so I didn't really know what I was doing. My dad scored a touchdown and I was so upset every time he tried to kick the extra point I would commit a penalty so he wouldn't get a chance to make it. He stopped playing after that. I was a sore loser back then, lol.

My moms would play Mario kart with us every once in awhile. She used to turn her whole body with the controller like every non gaming person does when they play a racing game.

My father on the other hand is sadistic. He would purposely shoot civilians and blow shyt up in every game he played. My father has this ridiculous over the top laugh that will have any nikka in the vicinity of him laughing too, so the whole room would be dying. Once I introduced him to GTA, it was a wrap. They made games like this for people like him. If you can't destroy random shyt or run over people in a game, he ain't fukkin with it.

I read the title thinking about havin' to ask permission to play (:sadbron: @ only 30 minutes a day of playtime)

Yea, my dad used to play Madden (90's versions), NFL Blitz, Contra, Resident Evil with me. He play Turok, but, I never got to play it.

My kid isn't playing shooting games til he's like 17 :mjpls:

I'll let them play sports games, platformers, and other E for Everyone games, but they're not playing the M for Mature games. The youngins these days have become accustomed with violence and media and videogames play a part in it.

I don't think it has anything to do with the games...hell most of us were between 6-12 when Mortal Kombat came out...you didn't see us trying to rip people hearts out.

kids are only as malleable as their parents allow them to be.

My little brother got hooked on Tomb Raider but he was :trash: at it. One day my dad picked up the sticks and went through a few levels to make him happy. After that my brother insisted he play through the entire game:deadrose:

Pops ended up beating like 3 Tomb Raiders while my brother sat there like .

Funniest thing was pops would act like he didn't like the game, but he got twisted when I caught him copping that Strategy Guide

My dad was so cold at Mario Brothers 1

He used to send me to bed and I could hear him in the living room clearing levels like nothing

Then he brought one of his homeboys over and they went and "cracked the codes" for extra men and levels..I was so pissed..he was on it more than my cousin and I.

My mom was ok at Mario Kart

I need a super nintendo for myself...:to:
