I'm not into conspiracy theories, but this sketchy phone call from Richard Nixon, on a landline, in 1969, to the fukking moon doesn't help:

There are also the points that (1) we were in the heart of the Cold War, and it was important we beat the Russians to the moon, (2) we are the only country to successfully land humans on the moon and (3) that no one has been able to do so again since 1972.

I mean…what’s sketchy about it?

Takes light/radio waves about 1.3 seconds to travel from Earth to the moon, 2.6 seconds round trip. The delay in communication is there. We’ve had radio transmission tech since about 1900. Step up your tech history, baby.

Travel to the moon stopped because it was basically a big Cold War dikk measuring contest between the Soviet Union and the USA. When the Soviet Union collapsed…they no longer had a dikk for us to even measure against.

And frankly, the moon in many respects is kinda boring. Just a big ass dusty rock. Mars and the Moons of other planets have are more geologically interesting and could possibly harbor life. Thus, more research, probes and shyt have been sent to those locations over the last few decades.

NASA went to the Moon six separate times :ehh:

My favorite moon related mission didn't even land on the moon (Apollo 13). The spaceship had an explosion in the middle of bumfukk space and the crew still made it back to earth :banderas: The Apollo 13 mission gotta be one of the most impressive feats in human history :wow:

Yes we landed on the moon. Other probes have taken pictures of equipment and footsteps that are still on the moon and people all around the world were monitoring the transmissions between astronauts and mission control. I'm so tired of this stupid moon landing conspiracy bullshyt.

Stanley Kubrick puts out 2001 space Odyssey in 1968- movie has the best visual effects of space at the time. It's the middle of the Cold war and the general thought is if you own the moon you'll own the world.. Russia just barely got in space.

The US Government hires him for a secret project that he's never allowed to talk about and they send him to the area 51 desert area of Nevada.

1969 - America "lands" on the moon and Russia stops trying because the US planted a flag on it. Biggest victory of the Cold war.

1980 - Kubrick puts out the shining with multiple subliminals about a man being driven mad keeping in secrets he can't tell anyone and multiple subliminals to the moon landing being faked.

You know, we are in an era where if you don't know something you can actually search for it and learn while sitting on your toilet.

I'm not even a conspiracy theorist and I still lean towards us landing on the moon, but let's not pretend like there aren't reasons to be at least skeptical.
I didn't go down the rabbit hole of reasons.

The craziest part is he likely typed it on a cellphone that uses the same basic principles. :deadrose:
