Dude is the star of the biggest movie of ALL-TIME, no matter if its CGI or not and you never heard anybody complain about Cameron cheating anybody out of money. I think they are going to be filming these all at the same time, so you think he's going to give up 2 years of his life for pennies when he's the star? He's going to be able to live off this just like Mike Meyers and Eddie Murphy are living off those Shrek movies. I'm thinking along with 6 or 7 million per film, Sam probably got a couple of points on the backend. Could be wrong though

I don't think he did based on the fact that he isn't the selling point of the movie. Let's be real: did you see the movie because of him or Cameron? And at that point in his career he didn't have the leverage to make a backend deal and still doesn't. Downey can make that deal. He can't
I do think Sam's & Zoe's chemistry did have something to do with Avatar's success even if its minor and I think Cameron realized that. Cameron could have just killed them off or explored other areas in Pandora but instead he signed both Sam and Zoe for 3 picture deals. Couple of points on the backend is probably high but a quarter or half of a point or 10th of a point, maybe

Maybe. You could be right. I just think the draw of the flick is Cameron and the spectacle. I really feel like the actors were inconsequential. But I also didn't like the movie very much so that's where I'm coming from. They sold the movie as the new James Cameron movie and the new tech used to create it and this new world and new way of filmmaking.

This thread is dumb, he couldn't hold on to the generic white man crown. There are way too many guys that are coming for it. Right now I would say Tom Hardy holds it. Suprisingly that dude from Parks and Rec (Chris Pratt) might be coming for it.
