Gets under my skin when people conflate homophobia with racism. People are born black. People choose to be gay/tranny. The two things aren't even in the same universe.
negged for having the audacity to put the gay rights struggle on the same level as the black civil rights struggleThis is actually an incredible look at the inherent self-hatred and neurosis of bigotry. The person literally couldn't stop spewing the ignorance. It was like some bizzaro Jack Kerouac stream of consciousness shyt. The camera turned into a mirror, and the bigot is confronted by their own grotesque reflection. Disgusted and ashamed by their own sight, they compulsively seek to offload the emptiness and inhumanity at the core of prejudice.
The one illegally filming without consent you mean?Hopefully that woman will be arrested.
It may be nyc but that's not a New York accentIt's New York
You can tell by the dirty ass subway train and the chick accent.
Why do they feel so comfortable coming to stay in you city then?Unless you updated after this post, it clearly says Manhattan and Bronx in the article

JobsWhy do they feel so comfortable coming to stay in you city then?
There's jobs in NYC.Jobs
I'm so sick of this bullshyt right here. This is actually an incredible look at the inherent self-hatred and neurosis of bigotry. The person literally couldn't stop spewing the ignorance. It was like some bizzaro Jack Kerouac stream of consciousness shyt. The camera turned into a mirror, and the bigot is confronted by their own grotesque reflection. The concept of civil rights doesn't belong to black people, it applies to all marginalized people seeking dignity and equal consideration. LGBT people have been a part of the civil rights movement for decades. I purposely used that powerful picture of Elizabeth Eckford's abuse because 1) it was striking in its physical similarity to this transgender woman being harassed for simply daring to exist in a public space, 2) it was a great example of the neurosis of bigotry and what effect being witnessed and recorded has on a bigot, and most importantly 3) because I believe empathy is the best tool to fight ignorance and bigotry. If people can see how others are suffering similar denigration and harassment, perhaps they would be more likely to see each other as human beings deserving of respect and dignity. But I realize this is a longshot on the coli, where so many horde and harvest their wounds, so the negs were expected.Gay people have used the civil rights movement for their own agenda while we are still at the bottom.
I'm not going to engage in the grievance olympics, but this is a really myopic point of view. I'm not sure how one can honestly look out into the world and come to the conclusion that the LGBT community is afforded the same level of respect or protection as the non-LGBT individuals. I don't know if you have been watching the news lately, or at all, but there were just laws passed in North Carolina and Mississippi that have yet again put the dignity of the LGBT community up for public debate. So it's not as simple as saying "gay people are in a better position than black people". In some areas, yes, in other areas, no. Oppression is multifaceted and will express itself in areas that non-victims may never expect or experience. This is why it's important to actually listen to the testimony of the marginalized with a clean heart.Gay people are now in a better position than we are in this country, laws are passed exclusively for them. When something happens to one of them, outrage is expressed.
That happens, but so does this:When something happens to us, money is donated to the suspects lawyer fees.
Theres a law saying you cant use your video camera in public? The one illegally filming without consent you mean?
