No one other than teenagers thought drill was cool. And if it wasn’t for drill music those souls would still have ended up doing the same thing anyway. There will always be a bottom barrel in a group of people, and they will gravitate toward destruction.

“Reality rap” has always existed in the art form, the difference with drill was the sound and young age of the artists. DMX was a violent story teller like King Von, he was just better at it than Von so people ignored the content

Chicago was violent before the rise of drill and it’s still violent now.
