Did Sony make a mistake investing in VR with PS4 Neo

Following E3 announcement of a powerful Xbox Scorpio with the specs of a suppose 4k 30 fps system. Did Sony mistakenly played their cards wrong by initiating the push for a new system when they were in the lead? What if VR fails to catch on and Sony squander their lead?

Microsoft reacted by creating a new system because of Sony but Sony intentions was minor in support of VR. Could this possibly be the worst decision for Sony?

I think its almost impossible for sony to make a mistake.


They literally can try whatever they want at this point because they fan base is so installed.


Only thing that can hurt them potentially is releasing a new system at 499/599 again... and even then.... nowadays people are kind of use to paying that for cell phones and things.

The Neo is not for VR tho. It was time for a slim, but Sony realized the cost to manufacture the console specs in the Slim PS4 was cheaper now. So instead of a slim they just packed in more of a punch in the Neo. And I kno more power will benefit PSVR, but Sony is not upgrading the specs on the PS4 for no VR. Standard PS4's already have a mandate on them in terms of performance. It's like Sony went to the store for Eddys ice cream, but seen Hagen Daz on sale and was like

I tried VR on the Samsung and it was pretty cool , the graphics were kinda shyt but the overall exp was nice

Now can Sony make a good VR exp? Maybe I hope so


I tried some apps where I could walk around in a VR world and it blew me away , now hopefully the graphics aren't bad , also were gonna be able to play Fallout in VR I can't wait
