Did Puka Nacua's record-setting year expose Cooper Kupp as a system receiver?

stafford spams any WR he has a connection with i think is the bigger story.

I wouldn’t call Cooper Kupp a system receiver tho. I think it’s pretty evident he just isn’t the same guy after all of his injuries. If Kupp isnt injured on IR the first four games of the season, Nacua probably takes longer to develop. Also helped Puka was with Van Jefferson first 4-5 games and VJ had no dog in him whatsoever.

It's not really a system, it's just the byproduct of having stafford as your QB. He only sees one guy. It's actually insane that he's had such a long career playing like this. Roethlisberger did it a little but not to this extreme.

Don't get me wrong, you have to be good to do with puka/kupp did with stafford but I can't say in good faith that they'd do this on other teams.

Well he came in the league with Megatron. And a lot of guys do this to some degree.

Yes and no.

There's moments where QBs force it to a top playmaker but those are moments throughout the game. Stafford from kickoff til the very last whistle is forcing it to 1 receiver basically. This is getting to be historically unique to stafford.

No other QB has and probably will ever have this kind of graphic

Yeah, I'm not saying that Kupp isn't good, but the praise he got was wildly out of proportion for his actual skill level and impact on games compared to other WRs.

Put a replacement-level WR in Kupp's place, and put a replacement-level WR in Tyreek Hill's place, and you tell me which team is going to see a bigger dropoff.

@Rhakim

:beli: what kinda dumb thread is this

Van Jefferson
Allen Robinson
Snowronek

are all receivers who have played for the Rams recently and none of them were that great.

Maybe Puka is a gem, and has great chemistry with Stafford (so Stafford feeds him the ball a lot)

Having megatron will do that, and Kupp being his better wr will do that too, not saying he could stand for spreading the love, but if it works 80% of the time, got him paid stupid contracts and a sb ring why change ?

As for @Rhakim premise, nah nikkas around the league give him his props, analysts give him his props, dude is legit, if dude is open usually and we (qb and wr) have great chemistry then yes that’s who I’m hitting

What the fukk is a system receiver??

Someone who wouldn't have the same degree of success in other systems. Like folk are saying:

Don't get me wrong, you have to be good to do with puka/kupp did with stafford but I can't say in good faith that they'd do this on other teams.
You can see Stafford locked in to just one WR as soon as the ball is snapped. If he's not throwing in three seconds, he'll start to run around and look elsewhere.
