Actors seem to be the only performers who don't get that point yet. Singers, comedians, and even models realized early on that they could use social media to seem more relatable and gain a fanbase, while actors still rely on the talk show circuit to show their personalities.

Fallon's whole show is based on having fun with celebs so they can seem like we'd want to have a beer with them.

Will Smith turned himself into a vlogger....Positive response on youtube. Will making use of his personality, ability to command attention, and ability to know how to show interest in people on command.

Will Smith should be back on track with his grassroots/social media effort soon so he can stop losing studios money. Hell, Will might be able to generate enough fans from youtube to do some passion projects that end up in the black.

Don't know if the rumors about her are true, but she got her spark off Winter's Bone and she wasn't even close to the best actor in teh movie. It was just a great movie with her in the lead. Hollywood doesn't give a damn about talent, they care about ticket sales. You can be a goat actor and if none of your movies blow up, you're a trash actor. They gave Oscars to Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock
