Three men were shot and one was killed at the Echo Sound studio in Atwater Village, CA on Sunday, October 17th, where Kurupt and Daz were recording.

According to the L.A. Police Department, at 11:40 PM, least two armed men, fired a barrage of shots upon Dwayne “Draws” Dupree, Jevon “Realistic” Jones and Willard “Act Da Fool” Givers. Dupree, a security guard for Daz and Kurupt, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshots to the chest, while Jones and Givers were taken to nearby hospitals where they were treated for gunshot wounds to the foot and calf and released. There were no arrests and the attackers remain at large.

Inside, Kurupt had been finishing his upcoming album, Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha. The general manager of Kurupt’s label, Antra Records, released a statement suggesting that “the shooting resulted from a possible misinterpretation of a hidden track on Kurupt’s forthcoming album.” The “hidden track” is no doubt a reference to “Callin’ Out Names,” a song where Kurupt goes off on his ex, Foxy Brown, DMX and the Ruff Ryders, the Firm, and others. “Any battles should be fought with words not bullets. We are terribly saddened by the loss of life and hope this does not happen again,” read the statement. “Please respect human life.

:whoa:
this had nothing to do with X. the person that shot them up was from eme. he goes by casper aka timothy mcgee. a sociopath.
hes currently on deathrow and used to terrorize NELA. kurupt didnt check in, and they got sprayed. i dont even think he knew who kurupt was, he just went in there and started blasting shyt. he was a psycho.

yep...when it came out though there was some talk that it was Eminem X was talking about

btw has it ever been confirmed that Em dissed X on “Forgot about Dre”? “Imma kill you and those muthafukkin barking dogs”?

There was always talks of them taking subs at eachother... but they had no real beef. Probably just shooting competitive shoots... but party up in reference to eminem is hilarious if it ever gets confirmed

I'm still wondering has dmx ever showed up to face k solo one on one

The Apollo story is wild funny. I don't believe k solo side. X told him suck my dikk (pull up) and k solo did nothing... X was on stage with his cousin redman multiple times and nothing happened... wasn't def squad on survival of the illest tour too... solo nikkas seem to fukk with X more than they fukked with solo lol

Exactly. Side note: drop that theory g

I always felt that bring your whole crew verse was originally a tupac diss with a light jab at biggie

"when you pass me nikka look me in the eye/tell me to my fukkin face that you ready to die"
there's an urban legend that X met big back in the day and didn't fick with him

The pac part is virtually the rest of the song lol.
"Who shot ya? Oh nikka like you don't know"

Then a few bars later

"And the vest won't do nothing but make you look a little thicker/ cuz in the dark you aint nothing but a lil nikka"

And throughout the rest of the song x makes various references about getting shot in the head.

Being that the verses were recorded in the mid 90s (sorry I forgot the exact year I would have to do some searching) but its not far fetched to believe that he was getting at big and pac. Pac pretty much turned this shyt into a royal Rumble in the mid 90s and let's not forget the original verses on get at me dog was a pac diss too where he calls him out by name.

X was around in the early/mid 90s we just didn't know about him. But other rappers did. A few years ago they released pics of ruff ryders out in cali with suge because he was interested in signing X to death row. And we all know his bad boy history..

So I definitely think the original intent of those verses were to diss big and pac. X wanted all the smoke and im pretty sure pac would've answered the call had he lived long enough to get wind of this

This could be true. Possibly cause of Def Squad being closer to Erick Sermon and Solo being closer to Parrish Smith ? I think :yeshrug:
