Beautiful execution. Leaving visuals up to the audience’s imagination can be so damn effective in horror.

I grew up watching Halloween, Nightmare, and Friday the 13th, so very quickly it got boring, and while it started with Supernatural beings killing everything in sight, it slowly devolved to the "victims" learning martial arts, or grabbing a rifle and ending them for however long it took for them to run away. It got tired fast. I need an eerie use of angst, atmosphere and creature...Mothman Prophecies did this perfectly for me. The Ring quickly followed the same year, and I was re-hooked. Those two cemented my passion for horror.
