I got love for Leo, but his Oscar-baitingis getting a little ridiculous at this point.
I think it's pretty clear the Academy isn't going to let him win right now. dude needs to take a few years off from "serious" roles and do a couple of romantic comedies or something completely off the wall. Then come back and make his "return" to serious acting and the Academy would eat that shyt up.
If only Ari Gold was his agent. Gold would have his ass getting paid $50 million to be Aquaman and winning over more hearts in a PG-13 romantic comedy with Mandy Moore
then return a few years later in a low budget indie film like "Queens Boulevard" or "Medellin" and take home the Oscar
So he can't make movies that he is interested in anymore? I doubt Leo sits and desperately looks for the role that will guarantee him the Oscar.
Dude will get his due one day, he may get that scorsese treatment and win it for a role that is't even his best performance.
