It would send the country into a panic. I remember how life kinda stopped in 2003 when that blackout on the east coast happened. For a good 24 hours nothing in NYC happened. We didn't even have traffic lights.
I just hope the gov does just 2 more crazy things... I really do hope that they have at least 1 or 2 major fukk ups by the end of the year...

in todays environment rioting is mostly unnecessary and counterproductive. we would basically play right into their strengths and preparedness plans. organized civil disobedience and/or focused economic tactics like boycotts are more effective.
the gov putting together contingency plans for a riot isn't surprising. there's always a few knucklehead opportunists and hyper passionate people that can spoil well intentioned demonstrations.

trash is unreliable in some areas. mail comes either at 9am, 12 pm 1 pm or 4pm. Created the stereotype of city worker (black female) w attitude here. Plus the other day I drove pass madddddd people standing in the cool air - they didn't know the bus drivers randomly 'called off sick' on the same day.
There really are kids that will go hungry ( or have their mom selling p*ssy) if some services are cut off.
