Apparently these devs went to Sega to pitch a new Jet Set Radio game which looks flame and Sega turned it down:mindblown:

Devs even said Sony was impressed but Sega wasn't fukkin with it:what:

Its not even like they have to throw a huge bag for a new JSR this could be a dope 20$ downloadable game. This is like the third time I've heard Sega bush a new JSR

But they love wastin money on shytty Sonic games.Gawd Sega is so trash:pacspit:

What hurt them was being semi exclusive with Xbox 1 when a lot of their fan base were on PS2

Peter Moore, currently of EA, was in a previous life the president and COO of Sega of America. He was one of the first prominent video game executives, playing a big part in the launch of the Dreamcast. Yet he was also the man who not only ultimately killed Sega's final console, but was also responsible for series like Shenmue appearing on what would have been rival machines.
While this made him a little unpopular at the time, in 2003 he was hired by Microsoft, bringing his role in the demise of the Dreamcast full circle.
So there we go! The Xbox was hardly a proper Dreamcast 2, I know, but it was more of a swansong than most other dead machines could have hoped for. So for nostalgic Sega fans, there's at least that to be...thankful for? At least, as thankful as bitter old Sega fans can get, anyway

This is why. Sega should've made all their games multiplat

I’ve said those exact words multiple times years ago when they fukked over PSO fans. Seriously, fukk Sega. shytty ass company
I cant believe that aint localized PSO2. Sega passing up on millions not domesticating the game.
Then Yakuza 6 bout to drop in america in March 2018. The game came out Last december
in Japan:snoop:

They make great games but Leadership there makes the company and fans suffer.

Interesting...seems like that guy was friends with someone/connected with someone in Microsoft. It's funny how decisions on a grand scale are made. Many people think executives come up with these sophisticated, logical plans of action that are supposedly in the interest of the company they work for, as well as the fans/consumers/customers, when in reality a lot of decisions are made BC of silos of interest, hunches, under the table business deals/agreements, extra money in the CEOs pocket, etc--ultimately greed. I think that's why so many businesses fail and so many industries go under--greed, ignorance, stupidity, pride.

Well you gotta look at things like development/marketing cost vs profit, can the devs actually make a good game, what do Sega already have in the pipeline for the franchise.
Also a number of the original development team still work at Sega so they probably have some say
more or less this, SEGA might have a development roadmap they are trying to stick with. its not like they dont have Hideki Naganuma (now credited as Skankfunk) on speed dial :yeshrug: plus there might be internal plans for JSRF that are still going through planning. SEGA made an announcement to shareholders that they wanted to focus on their older, stagnant IPs

What hurt them was being semi exclusive with Xbox 1 when a lot of their fan base were on PS2
They been Playstation Exclusive since the mid-late 2000s. :francis: Cant say I have any problem with that. though one of these days they need to come back to the console business

anyway, here. Have some Hideki Naganuma JP exclusive shyt for Yakuza

Y'all forget the Dreamcast was built on a widows platform, which made it easier for Sega to develop on the Xbox. The PS2 was notoriously harder to program for which is why multi platform games looked better on the Xbox. Sega was going through bankruptcy so there is no way they could have afforded the cost to develop on other consoles.

Windows CE - Sega Retro

"In the end, Sega chose to go down a different route than what was originally planned - bundling simple operating systems within the discs themselves. Running games through Windows CE was still an option for developers, but most games used Sega's proprietary software instead. The limited adoption of Windows CE is often blamed on console programmers lacking the experience to deal with the OS, and a lack of advantages that Windows CE offered over the competition."
