That unnecessary and uncalled for Cody/Tony slander
Well damn, are we taking shots at Steve Harvey, Billy Corgan, Master P, the ROH people and NJPW people too!?
I brought Cody up because he was the one who clout chased off unionization then hid his hands when he and his wife got all their benefits.
The issues that wrestlers face that could be addressed with unionization aren't exclusive to WWE. There's no accountability mechanism for the wrestlers to ensure that promoters do business the right way. It's an industry wide thing. Which is why when Jesse Ventura was trying to bring people together he specifically mentioned calling up the guys in Charlotte (Crockett) a union based solely in one company will always be compromised, watch a guy like Undertaker fukk around and become a rep and see how quickly the whole thing caves in.
Beyond just money, wrestling literally has no standardized minimum health and safety requirements. You brought up ROH, they fukked around and didn't have any concussion protocol when Kelly Klein got hurt and iced her out when she complained, now they've tried to erase her and her belt from history and that happened like 2 years ago.
Off the top of my head if we use Ventura's locker room meeting as a starting point (2 weeks before Wrestlemania 2) then some of the fukk shyt that could have been avoided was
- Bret and Montreal.
- The Mass Transit Incident.
- Abdullah running around giving everyone Hepatitis.
- TNA and Jesse Sorensen incident.
- TNA not paying people on time.
- Heyman dikking people around with their money and them finding out that he was done with them when he rocked up on WWE TV.
- Ashley Massaro allegedly getting raped on a Tribute to the Troops tour.
- Jericho being allowed to run around and do whatever with COVID going on.
