Man, as a black Briton, I feel sorry for black folk in America. Not that I don't live in a racist country too, but it's like the whites out there just don't give a fukk anymore when it comes to killing black people.

It's one thing to be a typical racist redneck cac, but it's like every other day I'm reading stories of people shooting black folk as if they're hunting deer. I remember watching a movie with James Earl Jones when he played a pastor in Amerikkka's deep south back in the 50s and he spoke about a white dude who had to pay a fine for shooting a rabbit out of season, yet black folks were being lynched all day every day and nothing happens. He said something along the lines of, if you're a rabbit then you will get far more justice than a black person if you get shot dead because n*ggers are always in season. Powerful scene.

This is why back when Obama got elected, people like Frances Cress Welsing and Umar Johnson were saying you're gonna see racism from cacs explode on a level not seen since in over five decades.

It just seems like the mid to late 2000s have gone back to that era, difference being the technology.

yeah i tread lightly whenever i have to do business in those parts. the police will pull you over for doing a mile over the speed limit, especially on the southfield freeway w/ that 55 mph limit.

As i feared with Barack Obama becoming president years ago as a youngster fresh out of college, I just had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that things were going to start getting very real. Because once people could hide behind "well, we have a black president so nobody can say anything about race anymore" then all the underlying tension would start to bubble over. And I haven't been wrong so far.

Either way, this is a horrible story and I doubt it will get the national outcry that it deserves without black people pushing it to the forefront like we did with the Trayvon Martin case. It will simply be pushed to the "local story" bakcburner. Saying that, I will be posting and sharing this story on Facebook once I get home. And I will encourage other to do the same.
