Yup. It's literally unfolding right before our eyes. All you have to do is look at the moves Dan Gilbert is making. It's sad.

man, I didn't want to name drop him... but that's who I thought of when I wrote that entire post.. .and that's just one person.... And they give no fukks, it's about money and being conformable. People like areas with money, nice buildings and only enough black people to have that urban , 'I'm a cool city person even those I'm really from Clarkston' feel (and to work as janitors n sh1t).

you live on the Eastside? I hope you know that's is the trash dump, it's not getting better. downtown, mid town, down grand river in that order... idk about southfield... The Eastside (where I'm originally from) will keep getting sh1t on.. I mean, my old street has only 3 livable houses on it.

every block is dam near like that but I moved right across 8mile one block over in warren mi all I got to do is cross the street and im back in Detroit but im always in the hood and all my family still live on warren

idk if they might hurt some of the points I make in HL... but anyway ... my pops is rich as fukk. He's not from here, never lived here and we aren't that close. but hes a capitalist, he's just black.. and this is how I know they plan this type of sh1t. 10 years ago he was trying to give me money to buy property here as long as i managed it.. I was like "hell no, fukk outta here, you're not from here so you don't know sh1t, I'm poor, these people are poor, crakers aint gone give us sh1t.. those areas are abandoned... you can't even drive thru at night n sh1t".

Now he's like :youdumbnikka: cuz most of the good sh1t is bought. There was one that I miss the deadline on. But yea, black folks shouldn't sell in the main areas and should probably buy property.

How do you do that when half the base has bridge cards and the other half wants to move?

It's easier for me to find some rat on FB selling 800 in food stamps for 500... than to encourage young people to make moves in the city. Our older generation has failed us. I blame them before I blame white people. They went through all the BS so when they had a piece of the pie they just wanted us to live the life..... with no life lessons or wisdom. 3 generations later n1ggas are selling the homes and commercial property that were bought from working at the plant for 30 years to cacs.

ntm, a lot of the n1ggas I know w money don't have W2's or 1099's. you can't collect taxes from a hustle.

Plus city taxes are already high... it's more about waste.. old black people sitting with minimum education making 80K+pension, and benefits to push paper --most coming from the same 'technical HS', getting their jobs through connections.. ... when some kid can do the same thing for 40k.

Plus much of the 100's of millions in public improvement are under the table deals. This city is grimy, imo, But maybe someone else has better insight on that and can explain.

I've posted this before but I'll post it again -- this has already happened in most of East Atlanta.

College grads want to live in dynamic urban environments, but with the recession and student loan debt, they don't want to shell out megabucks for NY, Chicago, and LA. So they go to places like Detroit, ATL (any southern city, really), etc.

What part of the Eastside you originally from?

I stayed off E. Outer Drive, not too far from where Finney used to be.

Median household income in Detroit is about 25k. Most people in the D are in low tax brackets, and raising taxes on poor people is kind of a dikk move.

You must not have been in Detroit in the last three years. White people are coming back. You actually see white people a lot more downtown now compared to 10 years ago. shyt when I lived down there (2002-2003 Harbortown) I didn't see white people until the Red Wing's game.
