But to act like he was far and away better than Vince or Grant Hill at their peaks seems revisionist at best. Im looking at the numbers and the only thing separating them are the Rings, Shaq and Phil Jackson.

When did Vince Carter or Grant Hill ever had seasons as good as that? :beli:

50/65/50/60 When did they ever had a 4 game stretch like that?

Kobe once had a stretch where he scored at least 40 points in 9 straight games. When did they ever do something like that? :beli:

it's not just the Kobe threads though. It's a whole much of predictable ass threads that goes on here. the worst are the reactionary ones. And the baiting that goes on here.

fair enough. that comes with the freedom though. there's a lot of other boards that would immediately lock most of the threads that come up in the place.

gotta take the good with the bad. :yeshrug:

and prime grant hill might be comparable (but still below kobe imo) but vince was definitely not on kobe's level. i'm a vince stan...and far from a kobe stan but :comeon:

In 99 and early 2000 you have an argument. That's where it ends.

Nah i could make a case he was better for each season '99 - 01'-02'
Only season i think you could give Kobe is the 00-01 year, funny cuz that was Vince's best season of his career...

OP said "Raptor" Vince vs 3 peat Kobe, not there best yrs head to head...
Im not arguing KObe isnt better at his peak or whos career is better, only thing id argue is VC was better during that 99-02 stretch...

01 was Carter's best year. he averaged 27.6/5.5/3.9 and Kobe averaged 28.5/5.9/5.0.

But yeah, you are right. Carter was better. :aicmon:

Even then you can make a case that 2001 was Kobe's best year. Phil says that it is.

yea and had a much better team around him, even if you want to give Kobe that season my point remains VC was better during that period....and yea im gonna factor the teammates they had...

Uh, Kobe didn't average those numbers during the 3 peat years..:beli:

1999-2000: 22/6/5
2000-01: 29/6/5
2001-02: 25/5/5

Vince's best years in Toronto:

1999-00: 26/6/4
2000-01: 27/5/4
2001-02: 25/5/4

Grant Hill in Detroit:

1995-96: 20/10/7
1996-97: 21/9/7
1999-00: 26/6/5

I never said Kobe was garbage, but he's not Naismith either.

^^^and Kobe's numbers are misleading if you don't factor in efficiency. Anybody can decide to start chucking.
