Thibs did bold moves in 2011 when he was ending games with Taj and asik and sitting noah and boozer at the end of playoff games. So he has it in him to make adjustments and crazy ones because not a lot of coaches would sit 30 million dollars down for asik who was a rookie at the time and a younger less paid taj. But they were playing better defense and forcing the heat to shoot jumpers which kept us in the games.
Thibs will have to do that same kind of adjustments
I think some of this stubbornness was thibs sticking it to gar about the roster make up and firing Ron adams. Hopefully thibs can get over that for the playoffs because in some match ups especially vs cleveland niko is going to be more valuable than noah that series. And it should flat out never be a time where kirk and noah are on the floor together and snell needs more minutes than kirk as of right now he defends bigger guards (lebron Jr) better than kirk can.
Imo our key to beating cleveland is rose busting kyrie ass, controlling the boards , our depth and guys hitting big shots down the stretch mainly dunleavy, brooks, jimmy, pau, and niko. If those things happen and thibs plays who he needs to play at the time, we have a shot to get past cleveland.
Getting off to good starts in the 1st and 3rd will be huge too imo. Can't get into 7-11 pt deficits and have to continuously climb out of holes. that killed us in 2011 too.
