I think people will be doing themselves a disservice buying the series S on launch. I don’t think it’s gonna fair well by mid gen

Yeah, the Series S is not what I'd recommend to someone who plans on buying a 4K TV sometime in the next year or so and honestly just throw $100 more and get a superior console(PS5). Series S is a bedroom/child console.

Lol. Kidding. The console is aiming for a specific market. The people who use a Series S as their main console probably don’t care about 4K anyway. I don’t see it as a big deal, considering what the console is.

I was initially hyped to get the S as a cheap secondary console to the PS5 but as we've learnt more about it I think it is too much of a compromise and have cancelled my order. The S is already falling short out of the gate, the X is definitely worth the extra 200.

I'm wondering what the real resolutions are.
If Series S is doing 1080p60, PS5 and even Series X shouldn't be doing 4X the resolution at the same framerate. The power difference between the consoles isnt 4X.
I wonder if its just that the Series S could handle higher than 1080p but they just left it there or if the Series X and PS5 are upscaling from 1440p or higher.
Digital Foundry will be crazy in Nov/Dec
