From what I've been told, Destiny is more fleshed out, and the content is metered out better, but I don't know for myself.

Destiny's story and how its built over years is great, I'd argue almost amazing. Its just not every DLC has been a hit and the ones that were set the bar that all the following ones had to live up to.

But the game is free now and there is tons to do if you haven't been playing religiously. Content is only limited if you play 20-30 hours a week.

The game is in a really, really good spot right now.

For the F2P / New player crowd, it can really be overwhelming with all that's thrown at you. I'd just say stick to the campaign for a while until you understand what's what.

And don't even try and understand PVP until much later. PVP is.... not like your typical bungie game at all. :skip:

I'm not all that angry because I've mostly taken this current year off from Destiny (the burnout is very real for me, and I'm pretty far behind on the power grind, so I've got to grind levels doing shyt I don't feel like doing before I can get to the gear grind. Just gonna come back when the expansion is out, since I know it's gonna hook me), but sunsetting is a tough situation that they had to get into at some point.

And really, the player base should have seen this coming, since this is effectively the problem people had with Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence (basically VoG gear :lolbron:). There's not really incentive for players to use new gear if they can keep using gear from the original launch window (looking directly at how many people still love Midnight Coup). And I imagine the dev team isn't all that interested in putting work into truly working on new gear if they know it'll get used for about a week, get replaced by random old weapon, and then thrown into players' vaults. Right before someone complains about not having enough vault space.

What makes it extra shytty is that some of those old items are going to be brought back, and you have to grind for rolls on a new version of a weapon you already have.

i hate that i had to go online just to figure out how to start the main campaign, stupid game pretty much sends me on a raid/multi group mission as my first mission:mjlol::gucci:

i was like this does not feel like a campaign mode at all, so after a 2 minute youtube clip, i was like:what: could they not have explained this to me in 5 seconds:comeon::dwillhuh: in the game smh.

anyway thanks to my division experience i did not struggle as much as thought but still smh bad first impression though the gameplay is lit :whoo:

Yeah, Destiny is ROUGH on New Light players because it was never really designed with new players coming in at a different entry point. There's not a lot intuitive about where to go at first.

Its second nature to anyone who's been involved with the game for years. Once you get the hang of things and where you have to go for what, its a breeze
