They never wanna go that route because the burden of proof is higher in criminal vs civil trials.
On top of that, a good lawyer will poke holes in the woman's story and bring up any character issues, heauxing around etc. Broads don't want all their dirt dragged into the light. Civil trial, even if that happens....they don't have to work nearly as hard to get a favorable outcome.
I understand why women didn't come forward back in the day....but nowadays, with MeToo being around for years, they should immediately go to the police and try to press charges. You can still do the civil suit afterwards. They don't because they didn't object to what Deshaun was doing at the time....even if they felt uncomfortable, I doubt they actually communicated that to him.
